Who is only MLB player with number retired by 3 teams?

One of the greatest pitchers to ever live, Nolan Ryan played for 27 seasons with four teams: Mets, Angels, Astros, and Rangers.

After four unspectacular seasons with the Mets, Ryan’s Hall of Fame career took off. The eight-time All-Star was such a standout player that the Angels retired his number while he was still playing! Though he didn’t retire until after the 1993 season, the Astros retired his No. 30 in June 1992.

In two separate tributes in September 1996, the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros retired No. 34, the number he wore for those teams.
