What does the “G” in Packers logo signify?
One of the most famous logos in the world, the “G” in the Green Bay Packers iconic logo was intended to stand for “Greatness” not “Green Bay.”
Created by Gerald “Dad” Braisher, Green Bay’s equipment manager from 1956-77, the “G” logo was intended to fit the shape of a large G into a football. Known to all as Dad, Braisher created the logo in 1961 at the request of Vince Lombardi, who was tired of the team’s logoless helmets.
